A/Prof Eoin O’Dwyer
A/Prof Eoin O’Dwyer holds a BSc in Biochemistry and a MSc in Analytical Chemistry (1st Hons) from University College Cork, Ireland. He graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland with MB, BCh, BAO (1st Hons) along with Licentiates from the Royal College of Physicians (LRCP&SI). Having completed Senior House Officer Training in Dublin he commenced his Physician Training at St. Vincent’s Hospital Sydney in 2012 and completed his Specialist Training in Cardiology there in 2018.
A/Prof O’Dwyers’ areas of interest include HIV medicine and its impact on cardiovascular health – he has published extensively in this area and presented at international conferences. Other areas of interest include the effects of anabolic steroids on the heart as well as Transgender cardiac health and is conducting active research in these fields with the University of Sydney. Dr. O’Dwyer has completed a research fellowships in HIV imaging at St. Vincents Hospital as well as a fellowship in advanced cardiac Imaging at the Royal Prince Alfred Sydney.
A/Prof O’Dwyer is currently the Clinical Director of Adult Medicine and a Cardiologist at the Northern Beaches Hospital.
